How much does a soft strip cost in the Midlands?

As a guide: part strips from around £900, office soft strip from about £1400 per 1,000 sq ft and a standard retail unit from £1800 — including labour, segregation, disposal and the handover pack. Every project is surveyed and quoted individually.

What is the difference between soft strip and demolition?

Soft strip removes everything non-structural — partitions, ceilings, finishes, fittings and redundant services — while the building structure stays intact. Demolition takes structure down. Most fit-out projects need soft strip only.

Can you work around a live building?

Yes — phased, evening, night and weekend working are standard for us, with protection to lifts, cores and common parts so other tenants are undisturbed.

Do you handle asbestos found during a strip?

Work stops and the material is tested before anything continues. Licensed materials are referred to an HSE-licensed contractor; a refurbishment survey before we start avoids most surprises.

Will we get evidence for dilapidations?

Yes — photographic records, waste transfer notes and recycling tonnages are compiled into one handover pack for the landlord or surveyor.
